Apostle Barbara Hamlin is the 5th child of 8 children of the late Ervin and Eloree Carr. She was born in Wilmington, NC. She was educated in the Florence County School District four, Timmonsville, SC. She graduated from Timmonsville High School in 1965. After graduation she moved to Jamaica New York.
In 1969 she was married to Deacon Leroy Hamlin. To this union came 3 children Lucretia Alston, Mark (Eshana) Hamlin, Teleia Hamlin and their grandchildren: Hannah Alston, Nevaeh Hamlin, Mark III (Trey) Hamlin and Jaxon Kennedy. Also to this union came one God-daughter Rosalind Murray and two grandsons John (Brittany) Murray and their son John Jr & Charles Murray. Deacon Leroy & Pastor Barbara Hamlin are Wonderful Parents.
On April 15, 1976 she was filled with the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Apostle Calvin Green, pastor of Glorious Church of our Lord Jesus Christ no. 2. In 1979 she joined Glorious Church of our Lord Jesus Christ no. 1 under the leadership of Bishop David Hickey Sr. and Mother Hickey in Jamaica New York. Under these ministries she served in many offices: a missionary, choir member, and a great youth president. As a missionary, she began a prison ministry where 52 souls were baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost. This is one of her greatest accomplishments.
Apostle Hamlin attended Bethel Bible Institute and graduated in 1977 as a licensed Evangelist, under the leadership of Bishop Perry Lindsey. In 1981 she left New York and returned to South Carolina to raise her children but God had an additional plan. Pastor Hamlin was ordained in 1985 and in 1988 installed as pastor of Deliverance Tabernacle.
Apostle Hamlin is now working faithful under the leadership of Bishop V.M. Davis in the New Apostolic Churches in Jesus Christ Inc. In this organization she serves as financial advisor, advisor to the women and youth department, and an Elohim Bible College teacher.
In 2000 she graduated with a Bachelor of Theology degree and in 2005 she received an Honorary Doctorate Degree for the abundance work in the ministry of Jesus Christ. She established an outreach center of Elohim Bible College at Deliverance Tabernacle Church. She is currently serving as the Dean of the Elohim Bible College.
Dr. Barbara Hamlin is a board member of an organization called “TAMA,” Timmonsville Area Ministerial Alliance, made up of leaders from all denominations in the surrounding area of Timmonsville coming together to bring unity in the community.
Apostle Hamlin is indeed an awesome woman of God who leads by example. She is truly a Watchman on the Wall for all of God’s people. When we are sleeping she’s praying. When we are facing trouble she is praying. When we need her she knows and is there to support us. Apostle Hamlin is a wonderful Pastor, Wife, Mother, Nana, and Friend… simply a Woman of Integrity.
